The Sign Dance

Only 0.1% of Italians know Italian Sign Language (LIS). And yet, every day on TikTok, millions of people use gestures and facial expressions to communicate.So, together with Ente Nazionale Sordi, we turned TikTok choreographies into LIS tutorials. Simple phrases, taken from trending Italian songs, translated into Sign Language and integrated into the choreographies to create fun, easy-to-replicate content.
With no media or production budget, the project was spontaneously shared by artists, media outlets and creators, bringing LIS into the feeds of thousands of Italians.
The campaign that turns TikTok dances into tutorials for learning Italian Sign Language.
